The intelligent ToolControl detects when a tool (e.g., bit, socket) is removed. It then automatically calls up the correct sequence program. With external specifications, ToolControl shows the assembler the tool currently required in the assembly process. The connected tool change boxes are recognized by the DSM control system and communicate via the DSM system bus as well as via Profibus with external specifications by an external control. ToolControl is available as a basic system and as an expansion system. When networking multiple devices, a basic system is combined with the corresponding number of expansions. Detection and assignment are automatic. The system can be expanded to up to 32 tool slots. The plastic tool inserts are part of the delivery. To ensure mix-up-proof handling, an adaptation of the insert sockets to the tool is necessary. This can be done by the customer or by DSM.
