The coupler terminal KL9050 replaces the bus coupler on a bus terminal block and forms the counterpart to the KL9020. The STP cable (Shielded Twisted Pair) is plugged into the upper socket and establishes the logical connection to the bus coupler. For the bus coupler, the extension is completely transparent. All functions of the bus terminal system remain unchanged. The second RJ45 socket allows for further system extension. Additional coupler terminals can be connected to the first one, so the entire system can be expanded in 31 stages. The supply voltage for the field level and the internal electronics can be fed separately. Both levels are thus galvanically isolated from each other. In the KL9050, a 400 mA power supply supplies the K-bus for the subsequent bus terminals. The internal electronics and the field level are supplied together from one power source. Three diagnostic LEDs provide information about the supply voltage for the respective bus terminal block.
