The TacoSetter Bypass – known in the industry as "TacoSetter" – is the classic among balancing valves. The popular and reliable original for static hydraulic balancing displays the flow rate on a scale directly in a bypass measuring body or in the fitting. The TacoSetter Bypass has been part of Taconova's range since 1985. While maintaining its proven properties, it has been continuously developed. Description: • Balancing and shut-off valve • Hydraulic balancing, flow measurement, and control at the consumer or in a subsystem. Advantages: • Direct visual flow control (sight glass) • Required water quantities are set precisely, quickly, conveniently, and continuously • No expensive aids (measuring devices, diagrams, tables) necessary • No additional shut-off valve necessary • Can be replaced or maintained at full system pressure • Low pressure loss • Can be readjusted at any time. Functionality: • Bypass with measuring and display part (sight glass with scale in l/min) guided parallel to the main flow, automatically shutting off • Reading mark is the lower edge of the float body • Displacement principle of an impact body guided in a measuring tube with counter spring • Reading mark is the lower edge of the float body • Measuring body is located in a bypass to the main flow and is therefore not constantly flowed through; the measuring body is activated as needed by opening self-closing shut-off valves by pressing and holding the bracket; switching the measuring body on or off has no effect on the main flow. Technical data: • kVS value and measuring range: see tables • Operating temperature TB max: 100 ˚C • Operating pressure PB max: 10 bar • Measurement accuracy: - Measuring range 20 – 80% = ± 5% of the final value - Measuring range up to 20% and over 80% = ± 10% of the final value • Internal thread Rp (cylindrical) according to DIN 2999/ISO 7 or • External cylindrical thread (G) according to ISO 228 • Installation position: in flow direction, any (360°). Material: • Housing: Brass • Measuring body: Plastic • Internal parts: Stainless steel, brass, and plastic • Sight glass: heat-resistant, impact-resistant plastic • Seals: EPDM. Flow media: • Heating water (VDI 2035; SWKI BT 102-01; ÖNORM H 5195–1) • Cold water according to DIN 1988-7 • Drinking water (with SVGW certificate).
